Paper Protyping(11/9/10)

We just started on paper protyping, our group has individual jobs we each have to do in order to get everything ready for our presentations.  
Desireee: She's going to draw out the game since no one else can draw.
Mikayla & Kayla: look up information, give ideas, and color.

Planning your game (11/4/10)

We started planning out how our game is going to be like, we really can't wait to see what it's going to be like.  Its a mixture of puzzles, questions and facts. So it should be funn. Wish us luck! (:

Imagining Your Game (10/28/10)

In our class, we had a costume party, so when we got to present and watch others present it made it a little more interesting.  Even though our group didn't dress up, I think we still did a great job presenting our game idea.  It was really fun to see everyone else's costumes thoughh. Every one did a great job! :D

Working on the mini game.

So far that everything that I have been doing is going through my mini game tutorial. I was having a bunch of difficulty doing that. But now everything is getting bettter (:

About Our Game :D

WHO are you designing your game for?
This game is for EVERYONE ! :D
WHAT will your game teach the player about your topic?
Our game will be teaching the players on the problems of pollution in the ocean.
WHERE does your game happen?
It happens in a town, because your charactors are Spongebob & his friends.
DESCRIBE the world you will design for your game.
The world that were designing for our game is your walking around a town that seems to be polluted by the oil spill. Then while you are cleaning up the oil spill, the town will be looking like its getting cleaner.
HOW will this setting add to the learning experience?
It will add to the learning experience by showing how much the oil spill and other polluting things harm the creatures that live in the ocean, and how we should take control of it.
HOW does your game world teach the player about your topic?
the world will show how upsetting pollution destroys the ocean.
WHAT happens in the world that helps the player learn?
While you are cleaning up the spill, & other polluting things in the ocean, the charactors that you help will get happier as you move farther into the game.
HOW does the player use what they learned to make something happen in the game?
The player  can use what they learned from our game and take action to what is happening with pollution or learn to NOT pollute.
WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz?
Because quizes are boring & if someone is playing a game and learning at the same time, it makes learning more fun and makes people actually WANT to do it.

Catching Up.

We are doing the "imagining your game" But I have to finish "Choose your Topic" first before I get to do any of that. My partners and I are still not sure on what we want to have are game like, & its really difficult because we have to present all of this by tomorrow, ugh /: Wish us Luck !

Mini Game.

Working on my mini game tutorial was really difficult. That's what I've beeen doing for the past week. But now my teammates and I are trying to figure out our mini game description. We want it fun, & exciting. (: can't wait to make it.

Game Nerd. :D

I love playing video games, so you can pretty much call me a nerd :p
Even though I don't have any updated technology game box things. The only game box things I have now is a Playstation two, or a Sega where I dont even know where that iss. haha.. Well anyways the video games that I love playing are the games that deal with zombies, or just the old games of Mario or Sonic the Hedgehog. I always play games that deal with monsters, ghosts and zombie things though. Its so much fun ! Even though I pretty much SUCK at them, I always play them when I'm at my friends houses, or just babysitting and they like the same games that I do. Games do give me a new perpective on other games, because it usually makes me want to play more games like that. Which is cool I guess. I can't wait to start making our game, even though it has nothing to deal with the types of games I usually play.

Sorry, I'm a little behind on my blog posts. But in Globaloria sometime ago, we had to pick out some team members that got to help create our game with.  So for our game,were going to make our own Spongebob & friends helping clean the ocean for Bikini Bottom to be safer and cleaner after the BP oil spill.  I think our game is going to be a lot of fun yet educating.  Our topic is on the social issues of the community.  Researching this game will help me and my team mates better understand what we should be doing to make our game realistic.  (: I can't wait..

Its Game Time :D

The type of game that I want is a game that everyone is gunna want to play!  I want the game to have some action in it, but with the action I want to create it to where you have to learn about new interesting things while getting into action with it.  I enjoy games like that because it might make people wanna learn.  So when I got to pick my team member, were going to be thinking of a game that everyones going to wanna play ! (:

Safety first for internet creepers !*

Internet safety is a bigg part of the "social networking" sites. Showing your personal info can be a real danger to you because you never know who can be creeping on you. Almost everyone has a social profile whether its a Facebook, Myyearbook, or Myspace  people never really pay attention on when they share information.  You could be thinking that your talking to some really cute seventeen year old kid that lives five minutes away from your house ; but really its some forty year old child predator looking for a way to get you, then your just going to be some helpless girl in a situation you might not be able to get your way out of.  I'll admit I do share private information to people, but I am also very very cautious on who I am talking to.  Its like looking both ways before you cross the street ; you always have to loook out closely because you never know what can happen.

Globaloria

In my very first blog entry I guess I'm supposed to write about what I'm excited and nervous about this class. Well... so far I'm nervous on how I'm supposed to remember so many html codes and a lot of other stuff.  Every code has a different use and if I use it wrong, I can mess up a bunch of stuff ! What I'm excited about this class is that I'll be able to learn a lot of different types of things on the computer to create learning, interesting games.  Along the way of looking up the different types of games others have created, my favorite kind of game that I played was the ones that were fun, adventerous; yet educational.  Those are the types of games that I'm willing to create ! (:
